Aug. 5th, 2006 08:23 pmEvery once in a while, I decide to try to write a story. Usually, one of two things happens - either I pick up a book and it turns out that I'm rewriting that book's story, such that anyone would see mine as plagiarism, or my writing is so poor that even I wouldn't read it. In either case, the attempt is immediately disposed of, and I give up for a while (usually five to ten years).
It's time to try again. This time, I'm going to do it slightly differently, though - I'm going to post chapters/scenes/whateveryouwannacallthem to this LJ, with the tag 'writing' (as is used for this entry), and ask that willing readers post honest, constructive criticism of the writing, from both 'technical' and 'storytelling' points of view.
For those of you who aren't interested, I won't do nasty things to your friends pages; it'll all be behind a cut.
